Down-to-earth, badisch-alsatian cuisine: the best of the simplest. The „Winzerhaus Rebstock“ is a typical Kaiserstuhl eatery. Good times with others come naturally in this 200 year-old restaurant with its lovely wooden furniture and a beautiful courtyard. Down-to-earth, traditional, regional dishes prepared to the highest standards, characterize the menu.

Kaiserstühlen cuisine and pure atmosphere, professional service, with the Vesper menu we recommend the Flammenkuchen with Munster cheese.
The food was okay, but the service was just average. Hence only two out of five stars. Due to the Corona time, the reservation period specified when making the reservation was from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. At 5:50 p.m. a waiter comes to the table and says that the table is needed at 5:15 p.m. When I said that we were told when we made the reservation that we would have our table until 6:30 p.m., the cellar merely repeated his statement. We didn't feel welcome anymore. Nobody thanked us for our visit when paying or when leaving the restaurant. Overall, the impression was given that the Rebstock winegrower's house or Franz Keller didn't need a visit. The service staff should take a hospitality course.

Always great, this kitchen here! "The best of the simple"! Points deduction for the chaotic service a week ago, which really managed to NOT clear our collection of "used & empty" 2 champagne glasses, 2 wine glasses, 2 wine carafes and 2 unused water glasses from the table for 3/4 hour, even though someone was often at the table Table and had 2 hands free.
Very good food, very friendly and competent staff, very good wine. It was a great evening. We'd love to come back.
Two of us were there today at 5:30 p.m., then waited 10 minutes at the entrance, while 2 employees walked past us without greeting. Then an employee asked us for a reservation that we didn't have, then went back to the restaurant and when she didn't come back after another 5 minutes we left. Weak service.

We're still sitting in the vine, so I'll write the review very soon after the experience. I have seldom seen a more rude service person. She doesn't seem to feel like it and prefers to sneak past five times before taking the order. The food requests were answered with an unfriendly "OK", just don't invest too much energy in friendliness and service, right. The food, which I hope will come one day, can still be so good, if the atmosphere and the feel-good factor are not right, it was our last visit. Now to the food: The price / performance ratio doesn't fit in any way. The veal schnitzel with chanterelle cream sauce for 22.00 euros was no more than okay. Simply done just unkind, looks like in a village pub. You look in vain for decoration, if only it had been a small steamed cherry tomato. Left pasta, right meat, the same drowned in sauce. Somehow between the canteen and the village pub in terms of taste, in no case an explosion or surprise. Ditto the trout fillet with risotto. Risotto underneath, fillet on top. Here, too, decoration or the like, which would show the guest that one has made an effort, nil. Not more. I can do that more lovingly and better at home. The risotto is reluctant after half the serving. It's not what you'd expect from the asking price. It was our last visit: miserable service and food, the quality and presentation of which in no way corresponds to the high prices.
There were five of us in the Rebstock for the first time and we felt very comfortable in the inner courtyard. The service was friendly but seemed uncoordinated and stressed. You should also pay more attention to fresh drinks, empty dishes or new orders, etc. in the other rooms. The quality of the food convinced us. There are even artichokes, veal heads and snails here. From the starters and various tarte flambée to cordon bleu, schnitzel with chanterelle sauce or coq au vin to the excellent mussels and kidneys in Pommery mustard sauce that I will rave about for a long time. For dessert there was tiramisu, panna cotta and creme brulee and we had to admit that they all tasted so good that you could almost call them original. We would love to come back! Edit: Because of the previous speaker, I wanted to talk about the price / performance ratio: Yes, the food is traditional and simple, but the quality and taste are convincing. Ok, the service leaves a lot to be desired and needs to be improved. But in view of the fact that the Corona madness, regional food, quality, staff etc. cost money and it is a restaurant of our DFB President with top wines in the middle of the Kaiserstuhl - who also welcomes his guests personally - the prices are absolutely justified. For us therefore not comparable with prices of other inns.

Nice ambience, actually. When it comes to food, however, I cannot understand the good ratings. Typical menu for Baden, which has no real special features. At the cordon bleu we had french fries that were clearly not homemade, but came from the freezer chest (= machine-made)! In my opinion, that is unworthy of such a highly praised restaurant. By the way: After making a reservation, you will receive an e-mail warning you that you have to pay the expected menu price per person if you cancel -> that doesn't go well with what is on offer ...
The food and ambience was absolutely fantastic. The service staff was still very new, but tried hard and attentive. We had the Salmon and the Mistkratzerle and I have to admit that I have never had such good value for money in a restaurant. Mr. and Mrs. Keller came to the restaurant in between and greeted all guests personally. Absolutely authentic and down to earth. We are excited!

The ambience in the courtyard is very nice. We found the food to be very good. In particular the pickled salmon as a starter was excellent. Personally, I've rarely eaten such a good salmon. The service was friendly but inattentive and unfocused, possibly just understaffed with only 2 people? The Powdered Buck Pinot Blanc ordered for the starter did not come to the starter. Since our table was not used that often, I had to get up to place the order again. Between the starter and the main course I had ordered a glass of Chardonnay bass violin. This wine didn't come at all. A later ordered water also came only after a second request. I then ordered a whole bottle of Pinot Noir for the main course because I was fed up with sitting on dry land all the time. For me, wine accompaniment is one of the most important components of a meal. Therefore, despite the many positive aspects due to the service, it is only 3 stars.
Once again it was an all-round successful evening. The food was great. Thanks to Mr. Barthold, who always manages to make the evening a very special experience. Of course the whole staff is super nice. It left nothing to be desired. We recommend.

Satisfactory without being exceptional, outstanding or special. Perhaps Franz should focus a bit more on substance rather than style, which he clearly has an abundance of. Could do better .........
